The Art of the Deal vs The Artful Dodgers

Politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians. Charles De Gaulle

Donald Trump’s announcement on Tuesday has been called rambling, xenophobic, and circus like–by Democrats and Republicans.  Here are a few of Trumps “ramblings” from Tuesday:

Our labor participation rate was the worst since 1978.

We have a disaster called the big lie – Obamacare.

We’ve got $18 trillion in debt, we’ve got nothing but problems.

Our enemies are getting stronger and stronger by the day and we as a country are getting weaker.

We have people that are morally corrupt. We have people that are selling this country down the drain.

These are some of the cards that have been dealt to the next presidential contenders.  So what is the GOP doing to win over the hearts and minds of voters? Enter the TPP, The Trans-Pacific Partnership. John Boehner and crew are trying to ram through the TPP…again.  A treaty that no one wants and no one has read–much like Obamacare, which caused the Democrats to lose control of the House in a midterm election.  Is it any wonder why Trump calls politicians stupid?  60% of voters believe Hillary is a liar. 62% of GOP voters won’t vote for Trump, and Trump knows this. Trump sees this challenge as an opportunity.   Some in the GOP purport that Trump is damaging to the Republican brand.  Republicans lost two major elections to a community organizer. The GOP brand, before Trump came along, was already damaged.

Trump has built a brand synonymous with success.  He is an artful deal maker and negotiator. He was mentored in real estate by his father.  He takes “risks” by speaking directly and truthfully. Hillary Clinton has built a brand synonymous with lying and scandals.  Her mentor was Saul Alinsky, a community agitator and socialist who authored “Rules for Radicals” and dedicated this book to Lucifer.

Trump’s campaign has also been accused by the Clinton/George Soros propaganda wing  “Media Matters” of hiring an actor or two to wear tshirts and wave signs.  The horror!  If Hillary Clinton wasn’t charging $200,000 an hour, maybe Trump could have hired her.  She has been acting as the champion of everyday Americans for quite some time now, yet the champion of income inequality and gender justice paid women on her staff 30% less than men.  As Secretary of State, she tried to ‘reset’ Russia by presenting them a red, plastic button. I watched that “negotiation” in horror.

In the Art of the Deal, Trump lays out 11 Trump cards for negotiating deals:

  1. THINK BIG
  2. PROTECT THE DOWNSIDE AND THE UPSIDE WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF
  3. MAXIMIZE YOUR OPTIONS
  4. KNOW YOUR MARKET
  5. USE YOUR LEVERAGE
  6. ENHANCE YOUR LOCATION
  7. GET THE WORD OUT
  8. FIGHT BACK
  9. DELIVER THE GOODS
  10. CONTAIN THE COSTS
  11. HAVE FUN

It is no question that Trump will be using these cards in his upcoming negotiations with the American people and the press as he seeks the presidential nomination. The GOP, should stop flipping the bird to their base, pick up a few of these Trump cards, and thank Trump for the honesty and excitement he has injected into this race.  Did Jeb Bush’s announcement on Monday cause controversy or excitement?

No…
