Self-anointed ‘Principled Conservatives’ Know Little About Principles

 In Election 2016, NATIONAL, Trump

“2016 is the Flight 93 election: charge the cockpit or you die. You may die anyway. You—or the leader of your party—may make it into the cockpit and not know how to fly or land the plane. There are no guarantees. Except one: if you don’t try, death is certain. To compound the metaphor: a Hillary Clinton presidency is Russian Roulette with a semi-auto. With Trump, at least you can spin the cylinder and take your chances.

Publius Decius Mus, Claremont Review

Real Clear Politics has a ridiculous video article, A Tragic Election Cycle for Principled Conservatives, in which establishment Republicans who claim to be more principled than say me, talk about why Trump is wholly unqualified across multiple criteria.

Let’s get one thing straight: If they are voting for Clinton, they aren’t principled.

Self-anointed “Principled Conservatives,” are the  #NeverTrumpers, but they know little about being principled if they are held to account for heir actions.
“Incorruptible” is also a component of being principled, high-minded, and righteous, and understanding between right and wrong. How is selling out your country to Hillary Clinton just so you keep your establishment job “principled?”

Conservatives spend at least several hundred million dollars a year on think-tanks, magazines, conferences, fellowships, and such, complaining about this, that, the other, and everything. And yet these same conservatives are, at root, keepers of the status quo. Oh, sure, they want some things to change. They want their pet ideas adopted—tax deductions for having more babies and the like. Many of them are even good ideas. But are any of them truly fundamental? Do they get to the heart of our problems?

Publius Decius Mus, Claremont Review

Call yourselves “principled,” but refusing to support Trump is advocating for Hillary, and is not conservatism…  it is disgraceful. How is your “principled” behavior supporting limited government, lower taxes, American exceptionalism, sanctity of life, peace through strength, or belief in the individual?

It is you “principled conservatives” who picked the last bunch of loser candidates, which we stepped up and supported, but ultimately were betrayed by. And now when the public dares to choose the candidate who represents the best interests of the electorate, instead of another loser echo of the other side who promote “America last,” you show your true colors and undermine Trump at every turn.

Remember when Mike Huckabee ripped Never Trumpers? “The dirty little secret is that the Never Trump movement was more about providing high dollar work for the political consultants than stopping the disaster of an Obama third term which is the result of electing Hillary Clinton,” Huckabee said. And he was blasted by Karl Rove, Ben Shapiro, Jamie Weinstein, Brad Thor, George Will, Bill Kristol, and many other establishment drones who are paid to maintain the status quo. But it’s DC Republicans who gave us Trump, and have only themselves to blame. The public gave the Republican Party resounding wins in 2010 and 2014. And they squandered it, opting for business as usual in Congress.

Let’s be very blunt here: if you genuinely think things can go on with no fundamental change needed, then you have implicitly admitted that conservatism is wrong. Wrong philosophically, wrong on human nature, wrong on the nature of politics, and wrong in its policy prescriptions. Because, first, few of those prescriptions are in force today. Second, of the ones that are, the left is busy undoing them, often with conservative assistance. And, third, the whole trend of the West is ever-leftward, ever further away from what we all understand as conservatism.

Now the public will hang this around the necks of the “principled Conservatives” as they consort with leftist Democrats, trying to hold on to any relevance. The same “principled conservatives” who generate the think tank ideas, repeatedly have their ideas rejected. But they continue to fundraise and maintain status quo. “The whole enterprise of Conservatism, Inc., reeks of failure,” says Publius Decius Mus, in The Flight 93 Election.

They want us to accept globalism, open borders, the giant welfare state and behemoth, oppressive federal government, which is nothing more than liberalism light.

How dare the public attempt stop this. How dare the electorate want more than higher taxes, failing leftist schools, crumbling infrastructure, debt that can never be repaid, and an invasion of third world immigrants flooding our borders.

All of Trump’s 16 Republican competitors would have ensured more of the same—as will the election of Hillary Clinton, explains Publius Decius Mus, in The Flight 93 Election.

The rabid left is trying — and succeeding — to break up the United States of America. The “principled conservatives” are assisting them. “The possibilities would seem to be: Caesarism, secession/crack-up, collapse, or managerial Davoisie liberalism as far as the eye can see…” says Publius Decius Mus.

The 2016 election is the last chance to try to do something different to save America. “I f they cannot rouse themselves simply to vote for the first candidate in a generation who pledges to advance their interests, and to vote against the one who openly boasts that she will do the opposite (a million more Syrians, anyone?), then they are doomed.”

Trump, repeatedly called a “buffoon,” is thus more prudent and practically wise than all of the Conservative think-tank fundraising machines, hustler consultants, DC “nobility,” and wholly corrupt media elite who so bitterly oppose him. And so is the average working man and woman who just want “liberty, which is always freedom from the government.” (Ludwig Von Mises)

RT Fishtank comment: under Obama care costs have quadrupled on aveage up 20-30%

Jim, perhaps you misunderstood. I had stated that my girlfriend, and Obamacare supporter and Obama voter, had her families healthcare costs rise 40%. She had sticker shock. Welcome to big government. Here are the average Obamacare cost increases affecting every single American. Exchanges are bankrupt. Many counties and states are down to one insurance provider. Less competition, rising costs, less choices. Read this and weep.

      I rest my case. Idiot.
