What can I do? They came for me and there was no one left.
Today on my radio show I had a person commenting about how they are tired of talk and ready for action. I hear this all the time. Oh quit talking and do something. Everyone is outraged with United Airlines over their behavior and treatment of the man in this video. I agree United has acted horrendously and the practice in the airline industry of over booking flights has been leading up to this for years. In fact I did a segment on this about four years ago. But, to the point of all these Americans running around talking about how we need to stop talking and get engaged. Here is my question, why did a full plane of passengers sit by while one of their own who so far no one has said acted in anyway worthy of removal was beaten and dragged off the plane? Because no one had a weapon? Because we are an orderly people? Because it was not happening to me?
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Why do we have to have a license to travel on our roads? Why must I have a license to do what the Constitution guarantees me the right to do? How is it that I can pay cash for my residence and yet still have it taken from me by government agencies that are supposedly working for me? We the People remember?
The next time you want to know what you can do, look in the mirror and ask when was the last time I contacted my Congressman or Senator? When did I last attend a School Board Meeting at my kids school or City Council or County Commissioners court? When did I last talk to my State Rep or State Senator, or call the Governor over an issue that concerns me?
Until we the People engage right where we are each and every time evil and injustice raise their heads we need to stop asking what can I do. Because there is plenty to do!!
